5G BOOSTS SPEED AND CAPACITY

5G provides considerably more bandwidth that allows higher data speeds for meeting the rapid increase of data traffic. 5G FULLFILLS THE NEEDS OF ANY DEVICE TYPE

4G was mainly tailored for smartphones while offering the same connectivity framework, whereas 5G is designed to connect nearly any type of device while acting as many separate networks. This technology called network slicing allows to provide a low power connection for an environmental sensor running on a small battery and at the same time, provide an ultra reliable and fast connection for autonomous vehicles. This replaces the need for many special-purpose networks.

5G CAN CONNECT A VAST NUMBER OF DEVICES AT ONCE

While 4G networks have difficulties dealing with a vast number of devices in a single location, e.g. crowded events, 5G is eliminating this issue by being able to handle approximately 500 times more devices than 4G. This potential turns 5G to a massive accelerator for the IoT domain as the amount of devices that connect to the internet is steadily increasing by around 30% per year.

5G CAN TAKE OVER PROCESSING TASKS

5G networks inherit considerable processing power allowing them to independently perform processing tasks that can be underpinned by edge computing capabilities. As those tasks are handled by the network instead of your IoT devices, a considerable increase of battery lifetime can be achieved. In combination with private 5G network deployments and our X-BRAiN capabilities, entire site ecosystems that are tailored for your use cases can be established.
